Beverly Rigsby

Beverly Rigsby, RN, BSN, MBA

Service Line Development Director

Beverly Rigsby graduated with her BSN from Loma Linda University School of Nursing and received her Master's in Business Administration from The Claremont Colleges in 1994. She previously graduated from the University of Redlands with a BA in 1988. Beverly works on developing many aspects of different service lines, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery being one of them, at Loma Linda University Health. She uses both her clinical and business degrees to enable both a wider variety of service offerings and better care for patients. 



Daisy Alvarado

Daisy Alvarado, RN, BSN, PHN

Bariatric Coordinator

Daisy Alvarado graduated from California State University Fullerton (CSUF), with a BSN in 2012. She completed her nursing degree at Riverside Community College in 2007. From 2007 to 2015 she was a surgical/ trauma intensive care nurse at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Daisy joined the Bariatric team in 2015 as a Nurse Coordinator. She works with the Surgeons, Nurse Practitioner, Nutritionist, and team to ensure a safe patient experience. She enjoys watching patients transform their lives to their full potential. She has found her passion; living by the motto “This Surgery Saves Lives”.



Amelia Tiefenthaler, RN, BSN

Bariatric Coordinator

Amelia Tiefenthaler graduated from the University of Jacksonville Florida with a Bachelors of Nursing in 2013.  She completed her nursing degree at Mt. San Antonio College in 2001. From 2001-2009 she was a cardiac/medical intensive care nurse and from 2009-2015 was a post-operative bariatric surgical nurse at Loma Linda University Medical Center. In 2015 she joined the LLUMC Department of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery as a Bariatric Nurse Coordinator. Amelia collaborates with the surgeons and healthcare team members preparing patients before surgery and continuing to follow them through their post-operative recovery. Her philosophy is to provide safe, individualized, quality care to both the patient and their families. She enjoys sharing the journey that each patient travels on their road to a healthier life.



Jason Holden, MEd, RD, CNSC

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Jason Holden has been a registered dietitian at Loma Linda University Health since 2009. He completed his bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition at the University of California, Davis in 2008 and his dietetic internship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in 2009. After working at Loma Linda University Medical Center for several years, he went on to earn a master’s degree in nutrition education from Framingham State university in 2015. Since then, Jason has specialized in nutrition for bariatric surgery, teaching group classes and working individually with patients to maximize their success. He believes that eating should fuel the body and spirit. With your input, he will help you develop a nutrition plan that works with your lifestyle.



Elena Alvidrez

Clinical Reviewer - MBSCR

Elena Alvidrez attended Arizona Institute of the Americas, where she received her certification as a Medical Records Specialist. She began her career in healthcare working in the Medical Records department at San Bernardino Community Hospital, Loma Linda University Totally Specialty Healthcare for Kids, and San Gorgonio Hospital. In 2010 she received her certification for Medical Billing and Coding from Summit Career College. From there, she continued to work with Loma Linda University Medical Center as a Records Analysis in the Revenue Cycle Department. In 2012, she joined LLUH Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
